Confusion or a typo above ?

If your video has been shot in 24p it is aleady progressive - the p means progressive.

    You cant dinterlace progressive.

but theres a problem with hv20 24p - its stored within 60i stream and therefore it must be properly deinterlaced and hv20 doesn't add pulldown flags - this makes this process difficult...by default vegas produces blurry and ghosty footage out of the box...a friend has shown me a footage deinterlaced with after effects, and that is why i wonder if this is possible with vegas...

Big confusion re HV20 and 24p - AVS Forum

It appears that the progressive video is hiding in a 60i container. No first had expirience as I shoot sd DV but have you tried just telling vegas it is 24p and NOT selecting the deint filter ???

A few people on the forum have hv20 so maybe they will help.
