Thread: Sony Vegas studio 9 capturing help needed

  1. Default Sony Vegas studio 9 capturing help needed

Right, Ive downloaded sony vegas studio version 9 30 day trial to test if its good enough and I'm having trouble with capturing it off my new camera.

For those that I've been talking to in the past few weeks I got a JVC Everio GZ-MG330. ( I know its not minidv, but I dont have firewire not am I going to buy a mac.)

So anyway, it wont let me capture my footage. I've plugged it in and it asks me on the camera if i want to back it up, watch it on the pc, get pictures etc etc. And I don't know which one to press and it doesn't do anything on the software.

    Help please.

    Choose "Take No Action."

Then open Vegas and capture through there.

If you're not using firewire, I'm not sure that Vegas has any USB support.

You only capture using firewire. And you only capture AVI files.

The Everio records to hard disk. You simply copy those files (using Windows explorer) onto your computer. You then use import media within Vegas to get those files into your project. You may need to convert them first to a format Vegas will recognise.

    Thanks a lot

I did finally realise that after hours of frustration that copying it through everio and then importing media via vegas is the way to go.

    Thanks anyway.
