Thread: Multitrack CAPTURE

    Default Multitrack CAPTURE

I would like to know of ANY suggestions for multitrack A/V capture, note I say capture NOT edit. I have several cameras that have both USB and Firewire connection options, and am very tired of always syncing my tracks. Sync is not hard or time consuming until I have different takes on each camera and that is a pain.

Does anyone know of anything?? I would prefer to spend less than $1000USD, but really just need any solution even some twisted hacked method.

I am merely a hobbyist, school musicals, dances, partys and football games. I think that sums it all up. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I have not heard of anything and I am not sure I grasp the problem or your desired soloution.

Synching tracks is easy as long as you give yourself a reference. Dog clickers are good for this.

I think you are thinking of a Genlock, they were advertised back in the days before computer editing took over, I suppose out side broadcasts would use them, they synchronize the signals from multiple cameras, probably expensive, never used them myself. just got plenty of tape and told every one once they start videoing don't stop, always had one camera with an 80min tape so we didn't all have to change tapes at the same time.
