Thread: Camera Bulb Flashes

    Default Camera Bulb Flashes

    Hi,

Ok..this is the type of video I'm going after. Is to have fan taking camera shots of me when I come out of my room. I want to have the flash bulbs going off like crazy.

Is this possible in creating it in Adobe Aftereffects? Is there an easy way of adding this to video footage.

If anyone has ANY ideas on how to make this happen I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

The effect is called Lens Flare and can be achieved in Premiere Elements, Premiere Pro or After Effects. Here is a Premiere Elements topic about how to do it.

This covers just a single instance but it can be duplicated over and over again to give you as many as you need.

not convinced lens flare is really what he's after on this one. Check out the tutoriaks over at teh creative cow. Aharon did a video tutorial on camera flashes in video a while back. Sounds like what you need.

Key frame sudden increases and decreaes in brightness - a cinch. And a flashy noies is good too - films favour the flash bulb noise from years ago, odd but that just seems to be the currnet vogue.

Beth W, one of the moderators at Muvipix is a real pro at creating the snapshot effect.
You can see a sample here from one of her early videos, the first time the effect is used is at the 40 second mark http://www.chuckengels.com/PremierVi...o/bw033005.wmv
It can be modified to do just about any type of flash that you need, including multiples.

yeah, that's the one I was thinking about. Forgot it was as a transition though. Watch it for sure but keyframing brightness is also a great way to go. Instant on and fade back over a few frames.

I'm looking for bulb flashes that will show up during a footage. Want to make it look like there are people there, yet I'm the only one in the room.
