Default 1080p H.264 Video doesn't fit Vegas Pro

hi i bought a lil' camera which shoots as follows:

    1440 x 1080 H.264 Video @30fps.,
    .MOV Video Format
    AAC Audio

My Vegas 8 Pro(a) doesn't swallow them..an error message appears an the sw shuts down immediatly...the audio track sometimes appears but as a LINE, no wave form or sound.
Think it might be a codec problem but GSPot doesn't tell me nothing specific. Is there anyone who can help?
