    Default AVCHD full HD is showing as 720 x 480 in sony vegas ?

    I am confused here i have best Quality possible MTS file from my Sony TG3 camcorder and when I open it in sony vegas under the preview window it says

    Project 720 x 480 x 32 29.870i

    Can any one explain this to me please ??

    what I want to do is convert the MTS file to divx 1080p

    You nead to rtfm a bit i think.

    You can change the project settings in the file menu. This is one of the first things you should do and learn how to do.

    Point if information - that camera is not ' full HD ' - I am sure it is lovely but please dont think that you have a hi def quality camera.

    First, in the preferences section in Vegas under "file", set it up for 1080 HD. Later, after editing, render it in 1080 HD. Then use that to feed the Divx converter as the source file.
