    Default Video Editing Instructors Needed

We are looking for people to teach DV editing to kids ages 7-17 using Final Cut Pro Studio 2. We are a summer camp company in the U.S. and we run our camps at 60 University locations across the country. We hire lots of people from the U.K. We do phone interviews so if you are hired we will direct you to a company called InterExchange who helps you obtain the necessary work visas.

Room and board is provided as well as competitive pay.

For more information and to apply, go to our website:
    www.internaldrive.com/summer_employment.htm

Competitive pay - so say what it is.

Cant for the life of me see what you are offering on the web site.

Anyone who is a competant editor will expect £ 25 to £50 per teaching hour - minimum.

Sorry Mark, I see this differently. This seems to be more of a life challenge for kids and instructors.
Helping kids develop their social and technoligy skills in what seems a great environment.
Anyone with the skills to teach is rewarded not with big bucks, but a warm feeling, a great holiday and a challenge. There also seems to be a small (competitive) wage in it too.
If I wasn't so goddam busy and had the FCP skills, I'd register. Just for the fun of it.
My opinions are just that . . . Mine. It's not personal, but is based on my emotional and professional reaction to requested critique. If you choose to ignore constructive comments, I'll just assume you're a vanity poster and not posting to improve your filming and editing skills.

    yea - point taken.

I was speaking with my moderators head on. I maintain that many of us in this place are very skilled yet some are far to ready to sell themselves at below tha market rate.

This devalues our skills and the wider professionalism of our enterpise.

Too many mooks come to this forum with resistable offers.

Agree about the mooks and their tedious offers, but this poster seems to have genuine credentials.
If an editor only undervalues themselves and their skills once, make it a worthy cause.

I like this sentiment... and contary to my first impression of the Jaimebg, this now does indeed look to be one of those worthy causes.

And a good prospect of encouraging the next generation of movie makers.

' Arbeit Macht Frei ' aint something I ever understood.

    ' Arbiet macht mürrisch ' - definitely.

So any word on payment for this? I've done a bit of editing training in the past but would need an indication of rates before considering applying.

    Likewise,

This does sound very interesting but a little more info would be great...
