thanks, but that guide is a bit simplistic to someone who has never used luma matte or key frame movement. guess this isnt gonna be as easy as it looks !

then respectfully, you are simply trying to run before you can walk. Get to grips with key frames and mattes/masking and then read it again.

The Premiere Elements 2 In A Snap book has a task for that, very easy to follow and the same process in version 3, 4 and 7.

Here is a tutorial from the co-author of the book, very easy to follow and basically the same in all versions

The book includes a very nice tutorial on the subject at hand, if not I would not have mentioned it.

Well I'm not one of them.

A far, far better book is [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Premiere-Elements-Dummies-Underdahl/dp/0764578812/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228934113&sr=8-2"]Adobe Premiere Elements for Dummies[/ame] by Keith Underdahl. Simple to understand and really well explained. It costs 8.99 at amazon.co.uk and no, I didn't write it.
