I have a bunch 16:9 content at various resolutions and framerates that I am going to be mixing for final ouput encoding with MPEG-4. Output size will be 480p for mostly PC viewing, although some viewers will be watching the presentation on HDTV sets with Mediagates
I'm wondering if I should encode at 720x480 @ 1.2121 and let the player squeeze the output, or if I should go full 853x480 @ 1.0000. I have quite a bit of computer generated output at 853x480 so moving it down to 720 and stretching would degrade quality, and increase render time, but I'd get better file sizes.
