Default Middle class children and the dark side of the force.

I often get asked to do video favs for people and as i owe Anne marie a few favs I did this.

Scratch low res render as it aint all done yet - needs tweaking.

I was struck by the tension between the kids and adults and the whole dark side gag came to me.

I will probably change the end to something less arty and more obvious, but I just loved the shot of ladies cutting the cake.

As ever with videos with kids in there are some amusing moments.

Will update with a more hq version when it's all tweaked.

added 14/12/08, finished much twesked version and new ending and a hq version - http://www.zaskarfilms.com/Films/Tem...nearlydone.wmv

well done. I do like the way you timed the soundtrack to what was going on, especially when the girl realized C3P0 was standing infront of her. Truely priceless to the parrents, I agree with Jerry.

It takes one to know one sometimes, I recently finnished a tribute video that was all soundtrack to only video, so I can apreciate the diligence in timing. If I get a chance I'll post the tribute video.

Yea - please do. The editing to the music thing is something that you usually wouldnt be aware if except for the effect it has on you. But if you often do it, it slaps you in the face.

The sound track is made up from six chunks taken from four original tracks.

Hi Mark, just watched it all the way through(HQ version) I think, hope it's the right one, as it was at the top of the page!

I thought it was great. Some very nice editing and cutting to the tracks.

great theme and they should be so lucky if it's a favour! must have taken a while....

Only a few minor observations on the version I saw.

The shot when the girl sees the present on c3po is followed by her holding the present. Do you have an interim shot of her taking the presnt off c3po.

The audio cuts were not as smooth as they could possibly be. Not sure what editing software you use, but something like an audio transition to smooth it out like constant gain.

The only other observation was around 9.15 when you had a dissolve into the same shot.

Then again, I could have watched the wron version

    Really enjoyed it.

    Cheers.

    You watched the right one.

The sound edits - left on purpose - it's not drama and i like to remind people it's ' real ' with a few ragged edges like that. I usually work with auto fade off then add them if i want them.

Some russian film maker whose names escapes me cos it had no vowels would insist on leaving a ,5 sec of black between each edit to remind people that montage is totally contrived - but i aint that hard core.

The fade at 9.15 is there cos it was that or a jump cut - I had to edit that shot right down.

C3po and present - well spotted mr continuity - all i got was a grown up getting it down and it was a crap shot.

I really appreciate your looking at it so critically - many thinks.
