    Default Which file should I burn my dvd as?

    I tried burning my dvd of a video i made and it plays on my computer but not my dvd player. It gives some weird error about not playback feature enabled. Any clue? Thanks!

    What file did you burn to your DVD. You should be aware that just copying fiules to a DVD-R does not make them a video DVD. They need to be a special format. So then, what fiel type did you burn, using what s/w and what settings.

    Eh, I dont know, I used the windows burning things. Should i get a dvd burner? Which program might you recomend?

    The way you've phrased this particular question implies hardware to me. Any DVD burner will do.

    As for s/w for buring DVDs. I've always used Nero for all my burning, whether it be CD or DVD (or very soon, Blu-Ray). More significant though, might be the s.w to author your DVDs. This is NOT the same thing as burning. By authoring I mean taking your exported video and converting them into the file structure that a video DVD needs to be in. This would usually also allow the desing of menus, alternative tracks (director's commentaries) and subtitles for the DVD as well. Here I use Adobe Encore. Not cheap though. I think Nero now has a seperate app for making DVDs.

    Hmm.. ok, i'll check that out. i just want to be able to play my movie on a dvd player.
