    Default Help with video codecs

    i have some videos i want to work with but premiere CS3 wont recognize the video format and i can't figure out what to do right now.

    here is some info from the videos using VLC.

    Stream 0
    -Codec: DX 50
    -Language:
    -Type: Video
    -Resolution: 640x480
    -Frame rate: 23.976043

    Stream 1
    -Codec: vorb
    -Language:
    -Type: Audio
    -Channels: 2
    -Sample Rate: 48000 Hz

    -Type: Audio

    and even one with a 4th stream with another codec: spu

    they're all MKV files as well.

    if anyone can help me with being able to get these videos working in adobe premiere CS3 would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you installed the dx50 codec? If not this will likely fix the video - DX50 codec information

    The vorb files are audio, and vorbs are usually in an .ogg container ( I love the sexy tech spek, lols)... so... half way down this page - Xiph.org: Downloads

    you will find -" Ogg Codecs for any version of Windows, version 0.71.0946, 2006-02-24 "

    Install that and all should be well..... ( yea right, like it'll be that simple, fingers crossed)

    i already had the DivX codecs, and i downloaded the " Ogg Codecs for any version of Windows, version 0.71.0946, 2006-02-24 " like you said, but still not working. :/

    i also have vegas, and i've tried it on there. Still doesnt work.

    A work around is to convert your video to something more editable - divxs are weird to edit anyway.

    Try converting to DV maybe or whatever with SUPER .

    is that the only way? :/

    i have about 90+ videos to work with each over 200 mb in size.
    and converting just takes way too long.
