    Cool Split Recording

    Hi:

The technology these days is overwhelming. I just got a new Dell running Vista and I run my satelite into it. Accordingly I recorded about 6-7 hours of Breeders' Cup horseracing. I would like to take out just the races and burn them to a DVD ... would anyone be kind enough to advise how I can do this .. my computer has a program on it called Movie Maker .. supposed to be used to edit ????????????

Please be aware, I am computer literate, but know nothing about video handling.

    Thanks

yes, m maker is a video editor - it may or may not edit the files you have depending on the format - try loadiung them into m maker and have a play.

Thanks for your reply .. as i said, I'm totally unfamiliar in this territory, but "yes" , it loads and runs in movie maker .. do I just find a START/FINISH for each race and record those sections elsewhere and then burn to DVD .. or is that too simple ?

Assuming you want to make a DVD to play on a domestic DVD player, then I'm afraid Windows Movie Maker won't do that. Use it to edit your movie (and add a soundtrack, still & whatever) and create an avi file. But you'll need DVD authoring software to burn a DVD (you may well have a copy of Nero or something that came with your PC which will do just that.
