Thread: Return to Menu at end of chapter

Default Return to Menu at end of chapter

    Hi all

Is there any video editing/producing software available which will let me produce a DVD with a menu (preferably multilayer) which will allow me to select a chapter and then return to the menu (eg to then select another chapter) without sacrificing the option to play the whole movie? (I know with some software there is a workaround which involves combining two copies of the movie, one with chapters and the other without. With this you can play either the whole movie or individual chapters, but this then creates disc space problems.)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

As far as I know the only event you really have is "what shall I do when I get to the end of the timeline".

If your 'chapters' are discreet videos then you can simulate what you want quite easily with each chapter as a seperate timeline. the end action goes back to the menu. You can then easily create aplay-all option to play the entire thing.

I;ve never seen a DVD with the option to return to menu at end of chapter. sorry.

In sony dvda 4 there is an ' on end action ' that you can set. That would do this I think.

in Adobe Encore that I use this 'on end' event very specifically only applies to the end of a timeline and not the end of a chapter within that timeline - hence my post.

Hopefully Sony DVDa 4 is what you need then

This is the exact problem I'm trying to work around. I've checked on the site which was linked to in a previous post and it implies that in sub-menu's a timeline can be divided up into different chapters and then play each one separately but I can't see how. I've e-mailed the author to see if he has the answer and will post it here if I get one.
