Default Broken line at top of captured video

    Hi,

Can anyone advise what is causing a horizontal black and white broken line (i.e. - - - - - - ) running across the top of captured video? This thin line starts at the far top left and runs to about the middle of the display.

However, there's no line on captured video using Apple's iMovie, and no line when exporting to Mobile 3gp or as a .dv file, but exporting to an iPod Video movie, raw AVI file and using iDVD contains this line. Captured video with Windows Movie Maker on XP (including AVI and WMV) has this line, and Kino on Linux also has this line, so only captured video, Mobile 3gp and .dv files via iMovie on the Mac manages to escape this line.

I'm using a Sony DV camcorder, PAL and standard 'default' settings.

    Thanks in advance.

    Default

I've managed to figure out a workaround for this problem. I can import the captured video as AVI into Nero 8, then export as AVI and Nero somehow removes the line, and all exports from this are good too.
