    Default You tube alternative.

I prefer posting some of my films to you tube cos my perception is that they have the greatest putative audience.
However I am now put off the tube cos they recently pulled my 2 most popular films - both unfarily in my view - and then they wont discuss it. Irritating.

And now I read that videos with guns and knives in will not be watchable by uk viewers - this is all getting a bit silly really.

So - what is the best alternative? I know there are many but does anyone know which has the next best 'audience' and is it close to the user base of you tube?

    Ta.

    Had a look...
Blip tv - dont get it.
Metacafe - poor quality like you tube and lots of vids are links to the tube.
Veoh - great quality, best so far.

I can't reach the Veoh site (banned here in Kuwait, so it must be good - smile). I really like blip.tv for the quality of the clip playbacks. Metacafe, bleccchhh! Appears to be populated by a bunch of elitists with the attention span of a three year old. I don't understand how they can be popular or what they are even about.

Try Vimeo at Vimeo, Video Sharing For You

It doesn't seem to have the audience that the 'tube' has but the quality is much better imho and the size is bigger also. Well I suppose it's better than a poke in the eye any day....

I like Vimeo, it gives you 500MB free downloads a week, and is better quality than any of the others I've seen.

I'll second that. I just tried Vimeo and their player looks great!

livevideo.com has a similar audience to youtube, but my videos there have been getting far less traffic. Some haven't had any views in months.
