Default need help building video editing sysem

I need suggestions from experienced video editors on specific parts to use to build a video editing system. The budget is ~800$, I need every component except for the case. I will need a good amount of expansion slots and the video I will edit will be up to 6rs. long. Thanks

Will you be working with standard definition video or high definition video? More details on what you plan to do would help.

Spending $2200 for a lot of people now in the current economic situation (don't want to sound like a politician) may not be realistic, I would use the components list above as a guide as you may be able to find cheaper components if you shop around and haggle.
