    Default Beginner looking for software

    Hello folks!

I'm quite new at the video making world, basically I have only used Windows Movie Maker in the past, and I was doing some basic stuff in Sony Vegas.

The thing is, I don't need much more tools than Windows Movie Maker provides, basically transitions/intros/outros+music editing is totally all I need. The problem I have with Windows Movie Maker is that it's so sloppy with saving your movies. I can't really control the quality, the size, the resolution, and the most important thing, the format and usage of codecs.

I'm doing mostly with resolutions of 1280x1024 or 1280x800, and movies don't really last more than 10 minutes.

Is there any movie making software that's easy to use (like WMM is), yet has more options when it comes to saving the movie?
I know Sony Vegas is very good at that, but it's not really easy to use .

p.s. I've been doing that in XP WMM, if Vista WMM has better saving options, I dunno.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

"Ease of use" in software editing depends on how you like to work. Some packages suit one persons way of working whilst other packages suit others.
Anything that has more functions will, by definition have more to learn. In the main I find Sony Vegas very easy to use and Adobe Premiere difficult. But that is not because one is easier than the other, it's because I put in hours and hours learning how to use Vegas.
What I will say is that in testing both before I decided which to buy, I found it quicker to get to grips with Vegas.
