Default Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 - unable to author AVCHD dvd discs

    Hi,

    New to this...

I am using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9. I have a Panasonic BD30 bluray player which I would like to use to play AVCHD discs I create from footage I take with a Canon HV30.

First, I tried AVCHD discs done with Ulead and they worked fine in the Panny.

I must be missing something with the Vegas, because the Panny says "unsupported format" when I try to play the discs...

There is no burning error with Vegas, everything's created "successfully".

I capture the HDV as 1440x1080 60i, then under "Burn Disc" I select bluray, Sony AVC as video format, 1440x1080 60i as video template, Sony Wave64 as audio (the only option)...

I hit "burn", burns ok but Panny won't read the disc. Again, it does read AVCHD done with Ulead.

I suspect the Wave64 audio is the culprit. If I am right, any workaround this problem?? So I don't have to bring another program into the picture as Vegas is the only one that can capture on my system...

    Thank you!!

Lack of help may be because you are an early adopter of blu ray - I suspect very few forum users are making blu ray dvds yeat so the knowledge base may be small.

A few regulars are strting to try blu ray - someone might help out yet.

I think you might find that the Ulead makes a simulated Blue-Ray on a DVD with proper Authoring were as the Vegas is just copying the Blue-Ray files over, I to had no trouble playing a Blue-Ray from the Ulead.
