Default .MKV video format works with Sony Vegas Pro 8?

    Hi.
I have some videos in .mkv format but seems that Vegas wont accept them. Is there a way to make vegas accept this format? Maybe a plug-in or codec that I need to install? Although I have most of the codecs. Please some one help me.

Maybe a converter from .mkv to a formats that Vegas accepts without losing quality on the video.

    Thank you in advance.

matroska (mkv) is a container (like avi). So long as you keep the codec the same in whatever you convert to you won't lose any quality.
There's a bunch of converters here
    File extension MKA
