    Default Ulead video studio se

    i have captured 2 hours of vhs tape through ulead video studio - movie wizard using "easy cap".

    the file is a massive 106gb !!!!!

    can anyone tell me why this is and how to rectify????

    I haven't used Ulead video studio se but that filesize is too big. If you captured in dv avi (very high digital video quality) you should only have a filesize of 13GB per hour, so 26 to 27GB for your two hours. Check the settings in the program and make sure you didn't do multiple captures and have a number of copies of the same files.

    thanks for your response. I did transfer using avi but i was hoping the file would be about 4+ gb.
    Any ideas on how i can transfer to produce a much more compressed file.
    I am transferring VHS from scart to composite to usb.

    Hi, You need to set the bitrate to no more than 4500Kbps for that length of video to give you about 4GB I find a good way with old VHS is to record to a DVD recorder and then use "Womble MPEG Video Wizard" there is a free trial you can download.
