Default help in adobe encore please!

    hey everyone

can anyone help me out with making buttons in encore work in my dvd menu like the buttons in the play station 3 display menu.

like where it has "user - settings - photo - video - game - " etc.

so if you are on user you can go down to see a bunch of other ones. its all gotta sorta fuction together i think, it seems the button you have highlighted stays in the center of the sceen and the buttons them selves move around not the selection/ highlighted curser or whatever..

heres a youtube video of the ps3 display, i want it like its setup at 18 seconds and on.

    any help please?

    thanks!

First the good news. It's really easy to do. Now the bad news... but it'll take you a month of Sundays to do it.

Seriously though. It can be dne but the effort is just not worth it. What you are looking for is the type of menu functionality you will only find in blu-ray movies (well maybe HD-DVD but I've never seen one so don't know).

in regular DVD menus are ONLY have static buttons. You can animate background all you want but the buttons remain still.

However, what you can do is show an animation sequence between button presses but these all need to be created beforehand and imported as timelines in Encore to play at designated times.

So to have a menu wiht two buttons X and Y above each other so that as you press down to go from X to Y you have the button positions animate so that the cxursor actually stays still and button move you need to do the following.

Create menu 1 with X above Y. X is a real button. Y is just background image. create a hiddent button on the page that you would navigate to from pressing down on button X.

Create menu 2. as above but Y is real button and X is just image. Hidden menu button.

Make both hidden menu button auto activate and play a preprepared animation that mopves the button around before going to the new menu.

    Clear as mud eh?
