    Please help!!

Just started to use Vegas pro 8 for first time, may seem a silly thing, but struggling to fade music in and out over the original video, also, need some direction on publishing when finished.

    Thanks in advance,

    Caroline.

If you mean fading in and out several times over the length of an audio event (song) then probably an audio envelope would be the method of choice. See insert-envelope-audio.
If you mean fading in and out at beginning and end of song then just grab the upper left corner of the audio track (little triangle will appear) and drag it to the right to create fade in. Do the same to the end but drag it to the left to get fade out.
These are well covered in help files.

Thanks for that, works a treat, did try the help files, but every time tried to open the topic my screen just froze up.

    Thanks again.

For the audio envelope to appear press "V" for the pan envelope press "P" press the V or P again to hide them. Double click on the envelope to make a handle to adjust or hold the SHIFT key and use the mouse to draw the envelope.
