    Default sound in after effects

i'm not sure if this is a stupid question...
is there any way to work in after effects and hear the sound of the audio track while working and not only with ram preview???
in other words, is there a way to make working with after effects close to working with premiere regarding sound preview???
    i appreciate any advice...
    thanks in advance...

Not quite sure what you are asking here.

You can hit the period/dot button on the numeric keyboard to preview sound only and, as you already point out RAM preview plays sound as well as video so what more are you after?

Remember, AE is NOT an editting application and so you can't expect it to act like one in all respected.

The only thing I think is different to Premiere is that you can;t hear sound while scrubbing the timeline. Is that what you were hoping for?

yeah, that's the word i'm looking for...
cause actually what i'm doing is putting markers on the sequence in premiere before bringing it to after effects...... it's just a little time consuming....
    thanks alan...

There is a way to do this in After Effects, I believe. I was working on a project that was timed to a piece of music, and I seem to recall placing my "beat" markers this way ... help and google should be able to solve this. Good luck, and please post again if you figure it out.

Not sure how to do that but you can open up the audio layer and see the waveform on the timeline. This might help you find the beats.

from what ive used after effects its useless for normal video editing but is really good for sfx so i always only impost clips that use sfx and add the sfx then take it back out into pinicle which is what i use for normal editing and then i do everything else in there
Need feedback on video from 2006 to make improvements on the soon to be made new version
