Default help burning to dvd hdr-sr10

    Hey guys!

Iv just purchased a sony HDR-SR10 but im a little lost on which is the best way to burn my video to dvd.

I have been recording in HD and have used PMB which came with the camera to save these files to my pc.

I am now using the software vegas pro 8 and dvd architech studio 4.5 and have already using the following settings:

    Vegas 8 Pro
    Project Properties: HDV 1080-50i (1440x1080, 25.000 fps)
    Render As
    Save As Type: MainConcept MPEG-2
Template: DVD Architech Pal Widescreen Video Stream

    DVD Architech Studio 4.5
    Project Properties
    Video format: pal widescreen (720x576)
    audio format: ac-3 5.1 surround

Now I kinda guessed these settings and im not sure if these are the best settings i could be using?

That looks about right - You're editing in HD and leaving conversion to SD till the last minute. When you render the MPEG2 file using the DVD Architect template, this will only produce the video. You will want to render a separate audio file with the same name (eg MyVideo.avi and MyVideo.ac3) to make things easy in DVDA.
Are you aware that DVDA 5 is now available as a free upgrade (mainly added capacity for burning BluRay, but I believe a few bug fixes as well)?

    hey thanks for the reply.

So when you say I convert to SD at the last minute, does this mean my dvd will not be HD?

Yes! A normal DVD uses MPEG2 which is standard definition. There are, I believe, ways of getting shor HD onto DVD, but I'm not sure what ythese are played on (a normal DVD player is, by definition SD so doesn't have Hi Def output)
No. If you want HD you'll have to write your HD files back to your tape/disk and playback via your camera and HDMI cable OR create a BluRay disc and playback via a BluRay player. (HD DVD has gone the way of Betamax)
