Default Need Help achieving some video effects

I have sony vegas 8.0 pro, and I was wondering how do I achieve the effects in this video:

YouTube - Someday - Brooke and Lucas

I know you can do flashes with the transation, but these flashs are actually in the middle of the clips and I was wondering how do I go about doing them. And the vertical split at 1:26.

    YouTube - Peyton/Lucas/Brooke: Over You

and the effect on this video:
    YouTube - Brooke/Lucas: Iris

Credit to: catouroy and SweetBrooke23 for the amazing vids

Split the event where you want the flash to occur. You now have 2 events. So you can make a transition.

Track motion and/or masking. See Grazie's excellent flexible suggestion as discussed http://www.videoforums.co.uk/sony-ve...ts-screen.html

More complex but still basically track motion and pan & crop and masking. I've seen tutorials on this in Premiere but not Vegas. (Search "Dallas Titles") I've actually done this in Vegas (ironically whilst working out the principles to help a friend do it in Premiere) but I don't have a crib sheet.

We get lots of 'how do you' questions. A blow by blow explanation may be of some help but there is no quick way to being a cool editor. Often the answers will be hard to follow until you really learn your way around vegas.

I suppose what I mean is that there really is no substitute for ahrd work and determination.

I suggest anyone getting into editing becomes a JEdi master with the track motion tool and using it with keyframes - many editing tricks rely heavily on this tool.

Thanks for the tips Where would I find the track motion tool?

I have the very basics of vegas, I've got my head around the pan/crop tool just.

    Within the Track Header.

The track Header is at the Head of the Track.
