    Default Picture quality Grainy

OK so I am on my first project, slowly working it out. I have downloaded a
Youtube, cut out segments and adding some of my own photos, only that when I put in my photos they appear really grainy?? They are really good quality and clear so can't figure out why their appearance should change. Can I put a picture over a back ground and use a transition or something to make the photo fade in and out or zoom in and can you have the picture appearing in a circle or do I need to cut photo out in a circle shape first before I drop into movie??

Reduce the resolution of the original image - I know this sounds illogical but Vegas will deal with lower res pictures far better (remember DV is only 720 x 576 pixels in PAL land) I usually crop my SD pictures to 1052 x 576 or double that if I want to Pan & Crop

Yes - basic stuff. Read the tutorials. Search Help for "fade" or similar

Can all be done within Vegas (use cookie cuter effect for circle)

if u're not yet used to vegas... switch to premiere pro... it's the only editing software capable of dealing with rather high quality stills (but still, not tooooooooo large images)
