Question Very Frustrated, Need Help Please - Editing

Hi, I have spent the better part of the day searching the web and going through every option in Sony Vegas to try and resolve an issue I am having while editing my video.

My video has a music file attached to it. I notice that, there are these "White triangles" along the top of the timeline in various places along the video.. when I play the video, at those points, my footage does this sort of "rewind".. I don't like it, and I can not for the life of me figure out how they got there or how to remove them.... please someone help me.

    Thank you!

Would you please attach back a screen grab of the timeline?

I realise the blue triangles are where the clips meet, however it is these white triangles that I can't figure out how to remove, and at these points are when my footage "rewinds" - there are several of them throughout my video.

I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Ah huh!!

    The power of pictures.

What you have there is that you have pulled the end of your Event beyond its length, and you are now "Looping" that Event. For example, if your Event was 5 seconds long and your space was 8 seconds you would have a gap of 3 seconds. What you have done is kept pulling your video event to fill those 3 seconds.

Vegas is doing what it should. It is showing you the Looping "notches" at the top of the video. You can't get rid of them!! - What YOU need to do is work out what you want to fill in-between - yes?

Thank you so much Grazie!! My head is not going to explode now.. haha

I suppose I need to take those clips out and re-insert them, I did not realize that I was stretching when I was moving them along the timeline.

Any tips as to where I can find more information on this program? I am using the trial version right now and would like to buy it, I have been using MovieMaker.

    Have a nice day!

Well, there IS the official SONY Movie Studio 8 Manual - it's free!!:

Sony Creative Software - Download: Vegas Movie Studio 8.0 Manual

Then there is the Movie Studio Forum:

Sony Creative Software - Forums - Vegas Movie Studio

That should get you going? Yeah??

    Cheers

Grazie, you surprise me, you failed to mention the very good help file - especially Help | Interactive Tutorials.

But I only really posted so I can reach 500 posts
