Default sony dcr-vx2100e or panasonic nv-gs500

    hi everyone
    this is my first post
i have a panasonic nv-gs500 and am thinking of upgrading to a sony dcr-vx2100e
    questions
1 what advantage would the sony have as regards picture quality, audio and low light performance
2 is the sony worth twice the price of the panasonic
3 my interests are videoing family, holidays and wildlife especially badgers, i have read the sony has excellent low light capabilities which would be good for videoing badgers
    appreciate any comments
    thanks
    michael

I cant be specific as I dont know th pana but he vx is a great camera - have used a few over the years. There are some bargains to be had on e bay cos everyone is rushing ( recklessly in my view) to cheap hdv cams and there is lots of quality sd gear for sale.
