Default Slow Motion with Adobe Premiere 6.5

I have Adobe Premiere 6.5, and my problem is that i can not play my movie in slow motion, as it is jerky all the time. I have done my research on the net, and i am told that this is a common fault with premiere. Is there any other software that anyone can recommend or advice. I am in your debt if you can help. Email me on chrisobrien7@aol.com please. Chris

How are you slowing down your video in Premiere? I've never experienced this problem...

are you rendering the video after you change the speed? Also make sure to select deinterlace. (right click clip, video options, field options, click always deinterlace) I have lowered my stuff all the way down to 40% with no problems.

If this is not helpful and you are using premiere pro, I have read that there is a way to export the video as stills. Maybe you can export as stills then import them back in and double up on the frames...prob not the easiest way.

    Good luck!

Default Not 100% sure I understand the problem

Do you mean you are having problems creating a slow motion effect using Premiere Pro, or do you mean your regular-speed footage (created in Premiere Pro) looks choppy when you slow it down in your movie viewer?

I'll assume the former. In this case, I have had no problems with Premiere Pro, EXCEPT when I tried using MPEG 2 as input rather than DV AVI.

    Hence, can you clarify that:

    - You are trying to create a slow motion effect within Premiere Pro
    - Your input is DV AVI
