    Default Importing Tracks Between Projects

    Hi folks,
Have looked thru the help files but can't find a solution to this prob. I'm using Vegas 6 and want to import a track(s) from one project into another. Is there an easy way to do this?

    Cheers

    John

Are you talking about an audio track?

In this case, it's a video track with quite a few effexts applied to it. Just wondered if there was some way of merging it into another project without having to re-create it from scratch.

    Cheers

If you highlight all the clips that you want to in the original project then copy, then make a new track in the new project, highlight it and you should be able to past the objects in..

No sure if but the V7 on wards lets you import projects onto the tL

Thanks but copy/paste doesn't seem to work between projects in V6.

Guess it must just be possible in later versions.

    Cheers anyway

Could you not just render that particuar clip, and then import that into your other project?
Or where you planning to alter it later?

It works in my VMS Platinum v6 so I'd be extremely surprised if it didn't work in your Vegas 6. You need two instances of Vegas open - one with the old project and one with the receiving project. Select all items on one track, copy and paste into a track on the new project. Copies all effects etc just great.

Be sure not to use the shortcuts (i.e. Ctrl + C), as I've found that doesn't tend to work all the time (if at all), just use right clicks.
I'd also be suprised if you could copy and paste, that seems to be standard in almost every program nowadays
