Default Adding Images in Sony Vegas

    Hi there,

Im currently tring to add some images of 300 dpi into Sony Vegas, the problem is when i render the clip it appears a bit blurry and not as crisp as I intend it to be.

The image sizes are 720 x 480 and 300dpi, the files are of PNG format (from Macromedia Fireworks). In the preview window everything looks crisp and clean yet when i render it to avi format to movie file it looks rubbish i.e. blurry.

PNG files are suitable for Vegas yet i think my issue may be related to the rendering process. If this is the case how can I get the images to look as good as they do in a picture editing program? Should i make them as big as possible and then import them or should i change the method of rendering?

I have tried rending in mpg format and that seems a little better, is there anythign I am doing wrong?

    many thanks,

    paul

    720 x 480 what?
What you're looking for is 720 x 480 pixels. dpi is irrelevant.
If as I suspect you're image is something like 720 x 480 inches @ 300dpi then the size in pixels is something like 720x300 x 480x300 which is absolutely MASSIVE.
Contrary to what you might think, a higher resolution still image usually produces a pooere quality video./ Aim for a resolution equal to ar twice the resolution of the video.
