    Default Newbie question..please treat gently

I have done a file in Premier 6.5 and using the Adboe MPEG Encoder set for DVD it creates and .m2v file.

How do I get this m2v file to be able to burn onto a DVD using Nero 5.5.10.35.

Doe it need further conversion? If so what with and what to?

    Thanks.

you will need further software to buil your DVD from your M2V and WAV files I'm afraid.

I use Adobe Encore to build my DVDs. I can create menus, import my M2Vs and WAVs and then encode them into VOB files whcih I then use Neo to burn tothe actual disk.

    Hope this helps.

Oh, and as you're obviously new to this remember to practise ona re-writabe DVD until you get it sussed.

blimey - you don't take much convincing do you. Encore is pretty much top-end (for home enthusiasts) DVD authoring s/w and by far from being the cheapest. A bit of a learning curve too.

If you're new then some of the others will likely be better value for money for you no doubt.

I have used dvdlab with good results and it's fairly cheaper than adobe encore.

However this is the only software I've really used for dvd authoring and I've never tried to import m2v files with it. However it does allow you to create custom menus and whatnot.

I don't know what millsy does but I'd recommend to export as DV-AVI from Premiere and then import this into whatever DVD-Authoring program you're using.

This will give you a huge file but it is the best quality. Somehow I feel better about doing the MPEG2 decoding in the last program...
