    Default xfcodec problems (I think)

i've been attempting to use blaze media pro to edit avi files with xfcodec compression. This very apparently doesn't work and i have googled this compression format and have not found any useful information. is there an easy and low cost way that I can convert these files to another format or something so as to make them accessible in the video editor and so that I'm able to convert them to Ipod format? Thanks

Where did you get the video files from?
