Default PremierePro 1.5 - unsupported audio

    Hello,

I want to edit an .avi video, but I am unable to import it. I get an "Unsupported Compression in File". The video is .avi, and the audio format is CCITT u-Law. I'm guessing it is the audio that Premiere Pro doesn't like.
How can I get this file to import?

Will installing ACE Mega Codecs pack help?

    Thanks

    Update:
I installed CCITT u-Law codec on the computer. (In device manager>audio codecs>properties I see it listed).
Premiere Pro 1.5 won't import the video.

Try converting to DV-AVI with Windows Movie Maker or Virtualdub.
