Default Panning and Zooming of photos in premiere Elements 4

In Pinnacle Studio there is a very easy function to "animate" still images with zooming and panning. In addition Pinnacle is relatively nice to large images: you don't need to scale them and still have acceptable video quality.
In Adobe Premiere I have not found a simple way to animate fotos with zoom and pan. In addition I have the impression that you first have to "downgrade" foto's to video resolution for acceptable quality. Please give advice.

    it's actually easy with PE4.

You need to determine the position and zoom of the first frame then turn on keyframes for the position and zoom, move down the timeline to the end of the sequence and move and zoom your file. that will automatically add a keyframe there and the pic is now animated.

Keyframe animation is so much more powerful than anything Pinnacle Studio V9 had to offer (can't comment on v10) You can animate any kind of movement including zoom, pan, rotate, etc.

And you can add many keyframes during an animation so your pic can for example zoom in and out in time with music or spin around once a second, or whatever.

I'm sure it's covered in the included PDFs.

As far as quality goes, any magnification above the resolution of the original pic will be a degradation of the quality, but since most digital photos are higher res than vid these days, you can easily bring in a big pic and zoom it down to fill the frame. Then when you animate a zoom into the frame you will retain the quality
