Default Couple questions for you all on editing.

Hi there everyone. No, not looking for what software to use or how to use it. Just a couple general question if you please...

I just bought a Sony HDR-CX7 I love this little camera for what it is. Its a big step coming from hi8.

Burning avchd to dvd for use in my bluray is all well and good and looks splendid in my 40in sony lcd.

But id like to publish some files to the web, or make them more portable. I have already simply transformed some of the mt2s files to wmv and the quality seems to be fine. But im sure its not the preferred method.

    I was wondering the following:
Best general format to encode to for the web? or portability.
Resolution size from the huge 1440x1080 format?

    Thanks anyone.
