Default Videos a live stand up comedian

I am going to be recording and producing a dvd for a good friend of mine who is a stand up comedian.

What is the best method to do this? Like how to record sound when im going to be using 3 cameras. What is the best position for each camera - is it better to have 2 different angles on the comedian and 1 roaming camera for audiences reaction? I can take a live audio feed from a sound mixer on the P.A system, is that the best way to do it? Then how do i lip-sync?

Thank you in advance for your help?

A slate (clapperboard) is the normal way to sync cameras for sound. Another way, if you have a digital SLR with manual controls, is to set the flash to 1/50 (1/60 if using NTSC) of a second and fire it so both cameras pick the flash up.This will white out 1 frame of the footage that can then be synced on the timeline

What would you say is the best position for 3 camera, e.g on the comedian, crowd and a different angle?

I would suggest #1 going for a close up (actually a Mid or MCU) #2. giving a long shot (head to toe) and always being "safe" ie no fancy stuff, so you've always got a shot to cut to and #3 on a roaming brief, going for extra long shots from the back of the hall, audience reactions, side shots from the stage, that sort of stuff.
