    Default Sound Problems Ulead V8

Help Urgently Required. I have produced a short sequence of video which opens with a video seq. followed by a series of stills with background music. I am backing up on DV tape via firewire DV in. When the avi version is run on pc all is fine. When I feed back into camera the background music is not there !!. The music comes in mid way thru a vid clip with the soundtrack muted but when fed back into camera music is not there and muted vid soundtrack is. Remember this plays perfectly through media player also on preview in video studio 8. I have tried a similar sequence I did on Studio 7 which incidently worked fine, but I am getting same effect using same clip on studio 8. Col

Would be worth checking your project settings in Video Studio 8. To do this

    1. Press ALT-ENTER

    2. Press the 'Edit Button'

    3. Click the 'AVI' Tab

    4. Change the compression to 'DV Video Encoder Type 1'

    5. Check that the audio is set to PCM 44.1Khz (Although dependent upon your camera you may try some of the other options - particularly the 12 bit options if that is what your camera sound is set to).

    6. render your movie and re-try

Let us know if this is of any help

COMPAQ something or other with 500Gb Boot Disk, 1Tb external Firewire Disk, 4Gb Memory and a super duper sound card, 19" TFT Monitor etc etc etc

Thanks for your reply. I press Alt Return which takes me to Project properties, edit gives me three Tabs, Ulead Video, General, Compression.I cannot see an avi tab as you suggest. as a result I am unable to make your suggested changes. Since posting my problem I have spoken to the Ulead helpline. I was told I am not the first to have this problem and said he was unable to help. He is contacting Ulead and will come back to me asap.

THis is a puzzle isn't it. Can you post back on the exact steps as to how you muted hte sound, and the exact steps you take to send the video to the camera. I will see if I can replicate the problem.

    Thanks

Not being a Ulead user I usually skip over these but I just noticed that it's not in the Ulead forum. Any reason why not?
