Thread: Problem with using high bitrate

Default Problem with using high bitrate

I produced a MPEG-2 file for burning a DVD video disc. I used the bitrate of 8000 kps (I hear the Max bitrate is 9300). But when I play it on DVD standalone player, althought the image is clear but the scene motion does not flow smoothly and the voice sounds interferencely.
I've got the same problem when I played a SVCD disc encoded with a bitrate more than the standard one (around 2500).
Is it true that this problem accours because of wrong doing with the bitrate?

Quite possibly. Encore complains at me for using the max bitrate of 8,000kbps with PCM audio, saying that it won't be compatible with standalone DVD players. Perhaps your standalone is being pernickity. Why not use Variable bitrate with a max of say 7,800?
