Default Captured Vid too large "Best Device ?"

I have a wincast/Tv card, I can capture the video but even at 320X240
it is over a gig for just 15 seconds of Video. No mater what I do it wont
lower the size of the video, Anyone know what Im doing wrong?
Or maybe direct me to a better capture device that wont hurt my wallet.
Just trying to put my VHS`s on DVD or SVCD.

You need to compress the video using a codec as it's being captured.

After playing with the settings for mpeg and avi outputs.
I have picked several different codecs, and each one that I pick. the 10
second movie just keeps getting bigger. avi, mpeg1, mpeg2, Dont matter
they all are just too damn big.

Try something like DivX, Xvid or WMV.
