    Default Interlacing Problem

    Hi All,

I am a totally new to video editing in Avid Liquid. Just wanting to know if anyone else can help at all with an interlacing issue.

I have just cut a tv commercial which I am having exported from liquid as an AVI file, full dv quality avi 16:9 top fields interlaced, I then put this through dvd authoring software. What I am coming up with is a slight flicker on CRT tvs at the bottom of the vision (I.e. where the video has black bars due to 16.9 aspect ratio)

PLEASE HELP! lol I would really appreciate it

I dont use avid but in vegas you can render top or bottomfield first - I think lower first is the one to use as a rule - try that first.

Some tvs seem to get this more than others - have you tried other tvs too?

    Hi Mark,

Thanks, this wasn;'t it however - I had tried everything. In the end I deinterlaced it all together in premiere. Bit of a compromise on quality but no flicker. Another happy client Thanks for your help though
