I dont know if this is possible, but i am trying to belnd two clips together with a 'fade' between them. The effect i am trying to achieve is demonstrated in the attached file. I am using Premiere CS3 by the way. Thanks in advance !

In Premier Pro 2 the transition you need is Wipe / Gradient Wipe.

You may need to create a custome gradient to get the best results though.
