Default Shatter fragments falling down on another 3D layer

Say I want to create something like a window that shatters into pieces and that the pieces fall down on a table in the footage I recorded. I made an invisible 3D layer on the table to make the fragments of glass fall down on it, but the pieces go straight through it, is there a way to make the fragments fall down on the layer?

    Thanks.

You put a bounce function on a plug in... i dont know what i am talking about but you can get the idea from here:

He is using a particle plug in, but I dont know which one in he is using exactly.
