Default First post: Bezier handle adjustment?

Hi everyone, this is my first post so apologies if this is a really dumb question! I am learning premiere elements 2 and trying to understand keyframes. I am trying to manipulate a still image which involves zooming and panning and want the motion to be a little more controlled than simply linear. I thought the Bezier keyframe would be the answer but despite the keyframe showing 2 adjustment handles, I cannot seem to rotate these either together or independantly - they always stay horizontal and the only adjustment that I can make is to change their length. Is there a special key that I need to press while dragging the handle to enable rotation? Many thanks for reading this.
    Regards, Dave
