Default Inserting Video in Sony 7.0

    Hi,

I haven't been able to find an answer to what I know must be a simple problem but one that is causing me a lot of consternation.

I'm in the midst of editing a movie using Sony Vegas 7.0. I'm in the final stages and tweaking video clips.

There are several clips I want to delete and replace with other clips. Problem is, whenever I delete a clip, all clips AFTER that clip move up in the timeline. I've tried everything and can't find the function that will both allow me to delete clips and insert clips without moving any of the other clips or audio tracks that come after the clip I'm working on.

    Any suggestions? Many thanks.

    Dave
