Default Quick help to get me started

Alright so I'm upgrading from Windows Movie Maker to Adobe Premiere Pro, and I'm completely lost.

I think I can learn a lot on my own, however I can't even start because I don't know how to "split" videos. In Windows Movie Maker, you just simply go "Clip - Split" and the video gets split where you select.

How do I perform the same action with Adobe???

You can do either one of two things. Before you capture, there is a setting for scene detection (can't remember exactly where it is located) and this will capture each scene to a separate clip, haven't used this method myself so it might be a bit hit and miss. I prefer to capture the entire video, then drag it onto the timeline, move the playback head to wherever I want to split the video and either use the razor tool (you'll need a steady hand for this) or hold down CTRL and K to cut the clip at the playback head.
