Thread: Unable to import files with Adobe Premiere.

Unhappy Unable to import files with Adobe Premiere.

I'm trying to import some AVI files over to Premiere. I can play them easily enough on Power DVD and Windows Media Player (the codecs seem to be fine for that) but when I try to import them over to Premiere the following error appears "Unable to open that file. File uses an unsupported compression format". Is there any way to copy over the codecs or fix this?

Is Premiere Pro on the same computer as the Windows Media player that can play the files?

Yes. Everything is on the same computer.
