A couple of things worth checking.
1. Any details on the error, any error codes or does the PC simply crash?
2. If the PC does crash then is this a new phenomenon? That is, until recently the software operated correctly?
3. If the answer to the last question is Yes, then it is worth checking the version of your directx drivers (should be v9 or higher). Sometimes, especially after installing games software I have seen older versions of directx installed on the fly.
4. Lastly, the problem could be due to dodgy memory chips. Try switching soem of your memory boards about, this may help.
Hope the above is of some help. Good luck.
