    Default divx/Xvic ---> mpeg-1 (VCD) --> movie not fluent

    hello all,

    i am new here and first i want to say hello to everybody.

    here the problem now.

    i have some divX and xVid - movies here and want to convert them into mpeg-1 / VCD so that i can watch them via my satreceiver (Dreambox).
    When i convert it, sound is ok but the pichture stops about every 0,8 sec for a short time (about the same frequency of interruptions you can see when TMpegEnc transcodes and the picture stops for a little while on the preview), so the movie is not "fluent" (sorry, i am not a native english speaker even on WinDVD. It doesn´t happen with all divX movies.
    i use tmpegenc to convert it and have no idea, what i do wrong.

    EDIT:
    i analised the videos with Gspot. Movie, which cause no problem, have a framrate of 25 P/S and audio samples of 44.1 kHz. Movies, which cause problems, have 23,97 P/S and 48kHz sampling Rate. maybe thats the reason? how can i transfer it?
    maybe someone has some hints.

    many regards

    dscha

    We're not really too fluent here in transferring films from DivX to VCD. Your best bet is to take a look at www.videohelp.com which specialises in this area.

    Thanks for the link! will try it there.
    btw: found out that it is obviously a problem with the different framrates (not very hard to find out but i needed some time )

    EDIT: it seems that here are the solutions: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=228505
